80th Anniversary

This year marks 80 years since the Co-op Juniors Theatre company started. Since our beginnings during the middle of the Second World War we’ve delighted thousands of audiences across Suffolk.

Throughout 2023 we have been paying tribute to the last eight decades: our junior cast took on world-renowned musical masterpiece Oliver! Jr in June whilst the senior cast soared into Snape Maltings Concert Hall with the ultimate family musical adventure, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This landmark year will culminate in a special celebratory production of Christmas Spectacular!

From our all-round Theatre Academy sessions, to LAMDA Acting, as well as Dance classes in Tap, Ballet, Commercial, Acro and Contemporary Dance, there’s a class for everyone aged 4 – 18, regardless of ability or previous experience.

Theatre Company

The Co-op Juniors Theatre Company is one of the largest youth musical theatre groups in the UK. We work with people aged 7-21 from any and every background to produce vibrant, innovative and original theatre across east Suffolk’s top venues.

From our Warehouse Studios in Ipswich, we aim to create an inspiring, happy and safe environment that gives young people the confidence to realise their full potential.

With a heritage of over 80 years, we have worked with generations of performers, many of whom have successfully auditioned and trained at the UK’s leading drama schools and entered the creative industries.
