ABOUT US

We believe in the value of creativity and the power of theatre. In a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment, we give young people the confidence to realise their full potential though the collaborative and transformative process of making theatre.

With a heritage of 80 years, the Co-op Juniors Theatre Company is one of the largest theatre groups in the UK for young people. We work with people aged 7-21 from any and every background to produce vibrant, innovative and original theatre across east Suffolk’s top venues.

We’re proud that our members develop essential life skills and the confidence to be the best version of themselves. We’re equally proud that many have successfully auditioned and trained at the UK’s leading drama schools and are currently performing in London’s West End!

ABOUT AUDITION WORKSHOPS

We are looking for ANYONE in school year 3 up to the age of 21 who loves theatre and performing! We are looking for young people with enthusiasm, energy, creativity and a willingness to give it everything. We encourage everyone to apply, no matter previous experience.

Each audition is a fun 2-hour group workshop led by our creative team. You’ll participate in a warm up and take part in a group dance. Then you’ll learn a song and sing in groups. We’ll also look at your acting skills through a short improvisation. Try not to get too caught up in ‘getting it right’ – our creative team are looking to see the effort you put in. We are not looking for perfection, we are looking for potential!

If successful, you will be invited to join for a one year membership. Our one year Theatre Company Membership (September – July) provides the opportunity to rehearse and perform in two large-scale productions across east Suffolk’s top venues, including the exciting and unique Big Top Theatre at Trinity Park. You’ll also receive specialised performance training alongside these rehearsals.

You will need to register beforehand for one of our audition workshops.
